AldenLeague - Week 3 Preview

Week 2 of AldenLeague saw a brotherly bludgeoning, a reversal of fortune, and a second straight Monday night letdown. CheektoWojo got 40 point performances from his duo of Chargers, Philip Rivers and Darren Sproles, en route to a 90.67 slaughtering of Fireseed, and a 2-0 record. Todd now last in the league in total points, clearly feeling the loss of Donovan McNabb. The Skyns, meanwhile, rebounded from posting the lowest Week 1 score by posting the highest Week 2 score…getting incredible days from Frank Gore and Andre Johnson. Andy’s Red Hots entered Monday night with the lead for the second straight week, and for the second straight week, ended up taking the loss. This time Joseph Addai burned Morrish, giving the Boys of Summer just enough to take the match and improve to 2-0. Also climbing to 2-0 were Ice Cold Bruschi’s and Most Murderous, both teams putting up impressive scores.

This week, the Bruschi's put their 2-0 record on the line against Boys of Summer. In a matchup that features the top 2 picks in the draft this season, Drew Brees and Tom Brady, Justin will look for a contribution from the recently acquired Mike Sims-Walker, inserted into the lineup after a 6 catch, 106 yard performances against the Cardinals. Most Murderous will likely be without Matt Hasselbeck as he takes on Hillary Calrissian (who did I mention has never made the playoffs since he joined the league in 2006). Hopefully, Matt Schaub won't score over 50 points on Hank's bench this week. Cheektowojo will have a leg up on the LA Ninjas as Darren Sproles will once again be the Chargers featured back, starting in place of LaDainian Tomlinson.

In other league action, Syn City faces Los Petates Mexicanos. It'll be interesting to see who ends up playing for Synrod's squad with 3 starting players listed as questionable as of Saturday. Andy looks for his first win against The Skyns, but may run into some familiar trouble, with Hoskyns starting 2 Monday Night Football players, Jake Delhomme and DeAngelo Williams. This time around though, Andy's got some Monday Night ammunition of his own with Felix Jones.

Finally, someone will be 0-3 this week, and both Fireseed and C-Men are praying it won't be them. Fireseed will need his big ticket players like Matt Forte and Anquan Boldin to pick up the pace if he wants to earn a win against C-Men, a team that features 2 of the top 3 highest scoring running backs in fantasy (Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson).

Semi-Finals

In 2001, the second year of AldenLeague history, Adam Wojnowski entered the league as BaltoWojo, and won Fantasy Bowl II in his first season. In 2002, Corey Maras's C-Men were added to AldenLeague as an expansion team, and won Fantasy Bowl III. In 2004, Ben Metz joined AldenLeague as the Widgets, and made a run to Fantasy Bowl V, finishing as the runner-up. Moral of the story? Beginner's luck exists in AldenLeague!
