AldenLeague Week 1 Preview


The tenth season of AldenLeague kicks off with a full slate of divisional matchups that, although they may seem inconsequential at the moment, could be the ones that cost somebody a division title or playoff spot.


Highlighting the opening weekend is the fraternal clash of the Hartman clan. The Boys of Summer take #1 overall pick Tom Brady into battle against older brother Michael and the L.A. Ninjas. The two brothers split the regular season series last season, and Mike beat Justin in the 3rd place game. Mike also leads the all-time series 3-1, postseason included. Rounding out the Westwood Division, C-Men take their aim at SynCity, also known as the "30-and-Over Club"


2-time defending champion Cheektowojo commences their bid for a 3-peat against Andy’s Red Hots. Adam has won 7 straight games, including the playoffs, and will look to his band of kick-returners to carry his team against Andy’s tandem of Packers, Aaron Rodgers, Ryan Grant and Donald Driver. Meanwhile, in the other Sandridge Division matchup, 2008 runner-up Los Petates Mexicanos go up against Hillary Calrissian, hoping that this is the year they can finally break through into the playoffs.


Rounding out kickoff weekend…The Skyns opens up the season against Most Murderous…while reigning Crittendon Division champ Fireseed looks to start off on the right foot against Ice Cold Bruschi’s…a team Todd defeated twice last season.

Semi-Finals

In 2001, the second year of AldenLeague history, Adam Wojnowski entered the league as BaltoWojo, and won Fantasy Bowl II in his first season. In 2002, Corey Maras's C-Men were added to AldenLeague as an expansion team, and won Fantasy Bowl III. In 2004, Ben Metz joined AldenLeague as the Widgets, and made a run to Fantasy Bowl V, finishing as the runner-up. Moral of the story? Beginner's luck exists in AldenLeague!
