Week 1 in the Books

We hear over and over again that the preseason doesn't matter - doesn't get too excited, don't panic too much.  But then comes Week 1.  It counts, for sure, but how much stock do you put into it?  That's the question AldenLeague owners face this week.  Is it time to cut Chris Johnson for that Morris guy who's running (at least for now) for Washington?  Is it time to offer half your team in a trade for RGIII?  Are we bound for a Fantasy Bowl rematch between the two Mikes, who are sitting atop in the league as things stand now?

Highlight of Week 1 #1:  Those cool Game Recaps on the Yahoo page.  If you haven't seen then, go to our league's Yahoo page, and look at the little scoreboard on the right that has our matchup scores from Week 1 and matchups for Week 2.  Next to the score, you can click "Final" or "Recap."  "Recap" gets you to a cool little personalized story of your matchup that makes me have to work harder to come up with something creative in this article.

Highlight of Week 1 #2:  Synrod squeaks out a 0.77-point victory over Stiegler (is that number significant to anyone else around here?).  In the last MNF game of the week, Syn City's Gates scored just enough (6.14) to seal the victory against Stigs, whose Darren McFadden (16.86) fell just short of sending his team to 1-0.

Highlight of Week 1 #3:   Mike Hartman beats Corey by 74 points.  This was a good ol' fashioned ass whooping, and the team that Todd picked to finish towards the bottom of the league got double-digit points from every player on his team, including at least 19 points from all 3 (!) of his wide receivers.  The L.A. Ninjas have made the playoffs in the team's last 3 seasons in a row.

Looking forward to Week 2:  This week features the first-ever match up between Todd and Adam as divisional rivals.  CheektoWojo leads that all-time series 8-6 in the regular season.
