Week 6 Preview and Power Rankings!

The bigger they are...
After starting the season with a commanding 3-0 record and the league's highest point total, CheektoWojo has scored 170 and 172 points in each of the following two weeks...and lost both times. The latest loss to Syn City puts them in a six-way tie of teams looking up at the Hartman brothers, despite maintaining a 17-point lead over the L.A. Ninjas in the points race. Will the (bad) luck of the scheduling draw cost CheektoWojo in the newest Power Rankings? Look below for details. In other news, the Week 5 Matchup of the Week fell far short of expectations, as the Boys of Summer topped The Skyns 120-89. A poor showing by these two squads.

6. C-Men
7. Andy's Red Hots

Transaction Watch
Team Fireseed made the only transactions since last week, picking up two different players seeminly with the short-term goal of winning their Week 5 matchup against Los Petates Mexicanos, but fell to 1-4 regardless. Fireseed only has 2 ACQs remaining to go with their 1-4 record. In other news, #2 CheektoWojo shunned TE Randy McMichael by dropping him from their squad without adding a replacement. Talk about adding insult to injury...

Matchup of the Week - #6 C-Men (1-4) vs. Karate Xplosion (3-2)
6th-ranked C-Men have had a rough go of things thusfar in 2008. Though never scoring below 140 and scoring above 170 twice, they have only one win to show for it (wk 4 vs. #3 Syn City) and are three games out of the Westwood Division lead. This week they take on Karate Xplosion, a team who turned a 1-2 season around with two consecutive wins (vs. Fireseed and vs. #8 BountyHunters) to pull into a dead-heat tie for a playoff spot. The C-Men will look to QB Drew Brees to lead the way in a home matchup vs. Oakland, to make up for the points lost by RB Marshawn Lynch, on a bye week, who will be replaced by his Buffalo predecessor, RB Willis McGahee. Karate Xplosion have been patiently waiting out injuries to 1st-Round Draft Pick RB Brian Westbrook and WR Marques Colston, and this week will have to do without a kicker (barring transaction) due to a bye week. They will again rely on the surprising productiveness of QB J.T. O'Sullivan and RB Darren Sproles (who is the 3rd-highest scoring RB!). Substituting Donte' Stallworth into Karate Xplosion's starting lineup for the idle Justin Gage, Yahoo! projects a 153.87-117.45 victory for the C-Men.
