Week 13 Playoff Scenarios

Only one week to go, and things are far from settled.  Playoff spots are still up for grabs, postseason bye weeks are still up for grabs, and neither conference has a champion yet.  Here's a look at where each team stands going into Week 13.  (Quick reminder of the rules: In determining the conference champion, conference record is the first tiebreak, followed by most points.  In all other situations, the first tiebreak is most points scored.)

1.     Syn City (9-3, 6-3).  Syn City has clinched a playoff berth. Can clinch the Rhinos Conference and a first-round bye in the playoffs with any 1 of the following:

A.    A win vs. The Dandy Lions

B.    A Downstate Fairies loss vs. Most Murderous

2.     Ice Cold Bruschis (8-4, 7-2). ICB has clinched a playoff berth. Can clinch the Cobras Conference and a first-round bye in the playoffs with any 1 of the following:

A.    A win vs. The Risen

B.    A The Skyns loss vs. Fireseed

3.     The Skyns (8-4, 5-4). The Skyns have clinched a playoff berth. Can clinch the Cobras Conference and a first-round bye in the playoffs with all of the following:

A.    A win vs. Fireseed

B.    An ICB loss vs. The Risen

4.     The Downstate Fairies (8-4, 7-2). The Downstate Fairies have clinched a playoff berth.  They can clinch the Rhinos Conference and a first-round bye in the playoffs with both of the following:

A.    A win vs. Most Murderous

B.    A Syn City loss vs. The Dandy Lions

5.     Andy’s Red Hots (7-5, 6-3). Andy’s Red Hots can clinch a playoff berth with a win vs. CheektoWojo.  If they lose, they can still clinch a playoff berth with 1 of the following 2 scenarios:

SCENARIO 1

A.    A loss by The Risen vs. the Ice Cold Bruschis, OR

B.    Maintaining a points lead over The Risen.

SCENARIO 2

A.    A loss by the L.A. Ninjas vs. the C-Men, AND

B.    Maintaining a points lead over the L.A. Ninjas

Andy’s Red Hots are eliminated from contention for the Cobras Conference Championship.

6. L.A. Ninjas (7-5, 5-4). The L.A. Ninjas can clinch a playoff berth with a win vs. the C-Men. With a loss, they can still clinch a playoff berth with 1 of the following 2 scenarios:

        SCENARIO 1

             A.    An Andy’s Red Hots loss vs. CheektoWojo, AND
             B.    Catching the Red Hots in total points

        SCENARIO 2 

             A.    A The Risen loss vs. the Ice Cold Bruschis, OR 
             B.    Catching The Risen in total points 
The L.A. Ninjas are eliminated from contention for the Rhinos Conference Championship.

7.     The Risen (6-6, 4-5). To clinch a playoff berth, The Risen must win this week vs. the Ice Cold Bruschis, and have 1 of the following 2 scenarios:

SCENARIO 1

              A. An Andy’s Red Hots loss to CheektoWojo, AND

              B. The Risen catches the Red Hots in points

              SCENARIO 2

              A: An L.A. Ninjas loss to the C-Men, AND

              B. The Risen maintain their points lead over the L.A. Ninjas

The Risen are eliminated from contention for the Cobras Conference Championship.

If The Risen fail to qualify for the playoffs, they can clinch a 1^st round bye in the Consolation Bracket by winning this week.  If they lose, they can still clinch a 1^st round bye with 1 of the following 2 scenarios:

              SCENARIO 1

A.    A Most Murderous loss to the Downstate Fairies, OR

B.    Maintaining a total points lead over Most Murderous

SCENARIO 2

A.    A Fireseed loss to The Skyns, OR

B.    Maintaining a total points lead over Fireseed

8. Most Murderous (5-7, 4-5). Most Murderous is eliminated from contention for a playoff berth. Barring a miraculous point total by Fireseed this week, Most Murderous can clinch a first-round bye in the Consolation Bracket by winning vs. the Ice Cold Bruschis. If they lose vs. ICB, they can still clinch a first-round bye with BOTH the following scenarios:

              SCENARIO 1

              A. A Fireseed loss vs. The Skyns

              SCENARIO 2

A.    A CheektoWojo loss vs. Andy’s Red Hots, OR

B.    Maintaining a total points lead over CheektoWojo

9. Fireseed (5-7, 3-6). Fireseed is eliminated from contention for a playoff berth. Barring a miraculous total of points scored this week, they can clinch a first-round bye in the Consolation bracket with:

              A: A win over The Skyns, AND

              B: A Most Murderous loss to the Downstate Fairies

10. CheektoWojo (4-8, 2-7). CheektoWojo is eliminated from contention for a playoff berth. They can clinch a first-round bye in the Consolation bracket with:

              A: A win over Andy’s Red Hots, AND

              B: A Fireseed loss to The Skyns, AND

              C: A Most Murderous loss the Downstate Fairies, AND

              D: Catching Most Murderous in total points, AND

              E: Maintaining total points lead over Fireseed.

11. C-Men (3-9, 3-6). The C-Men are eliminated from contention for a playoff berth. They will be playing in the first round of the Consolation Bracket playoffs.

12.  The Dandy Lions (2-10, 2-7). The Dandy Lions are eliminated from contention for a playoff berth. They will be playing in the first round of the Consolation Bracket playoffs.
