Congratulations to The Skyns: 2011 AldenLeague Champs!

Image
Congratulations to Mike Hoskyns and The Skyns, winners of Fantasy Bowl XII and 2011 AldenLeague Champions! The Skyns, in their first-ever Fantasy Bowl appearance, scored a 182.93-150.51 victory over the L.A. Ninjas to win the "Battle of Los Angeles." The Skyns needed approximately 50 points going into Sunday night's Green Bay/Chicago game, and got big points from the combination of kicker Mason Crosby (5 pts) and newly-acquired wide receiver James Jones (19.14 points). That put Hoskyns down 24 going into Monday Night Football, where QB Drew Brees and TE Jimmy Graham of the Saints were needed to seal the deal. And seal they did: Graham contributed a cool 12 points even, while Drew Brees lit up the scoreboard with 44.20, setting the NFL's passing yardage record, but most importantly, clinching Crittenden Division Champions, The Skyns to Fantasy Bowl glory. The Skyns's victory is the third league championship in a row for members of the Crittenden Division (Ice Co...

Last Chance!!!

Week 12 took some interesting twists and set up a Week 13 with considerably less drama than in recent years. We know 5/6 of the playoff field, with only two teams competing for the last spot. Here's what we do know: -The much-anticipated Boys of Summer/Syn City matchup in Week 13 is meaningless. Even if they beat them week, Syn City cannot catch the Boys of Fall for the Westwood Division title/#1 playoff seed/first round post-season bye. Though their records could be tied with a Syn City victory, the first tie-breaker goes to division record, where the Boys of Fall have an insurmountable 2-game lead with one game left. This means the Boys of Fall have clinched the top seed, leaving Syn City to the #4 seed. -Syn City's Wild Card game will be a rematch of this weekend's loss to the L.A. Ninjas. With the win, the Ninjas clinch the #5 seed. Syn City won their earlier matchup this year. -The L.A. Ninjas' 50-point beat-down of Syn City this week was a bit stunning. It ...

Playoff Scenarios!

Two weeks left to the regular season, and the playoff race couldn't be any hotter. Let's skip the intros and get right to it. Division title scenarios will be written in red, and playoff berth scenarios written in blue. Quick note: remember that the tiebreaker is total point scored in all situations except when two teams are tied for the division championship, when the tiebreakers go: 1. Divisional Record, 2. Head-to-Head record, 3. Most points. 1. Boys of Fall (10-1, 4-0) Clinched a playoff spot. Can clinch the Westwood Division and a first-round playoff bye this week with a win plus a Syn City loss. With a loss this week, can still clinch the division and bye by defeating Syn City in Week 13. 2. The Risen (7-4, 3-1) Can clinch the Sandridge Division with one win in the next two games, -OR- one loss by Andy's Red Hots in the next 2 games (The Risen vs. Red Hots in Week 13). Can clinch a playoff spot with one win in the next two games. Can clinch a playoff spot...
